MCA Troubleshooting
Most MCA DSC failures come down to one of a handful of causes, here's how to identify and fix yours quickly.
Match your symptom to the likely cause before you try anything else.
| If you see this | Try this |
|---|---|
| DSC not detected / no certificate shown | Confirm the token is properly inserted, reinstall the token driver, and try a different USB port. |
| "Something went wrong" during signing | Uninstall and reinstall the latest emBridge application, this resolves most MCA signing failures. |
| Signing works elsewhere but fails on MCA | MCA specifically uses emBridge, not emSigner (which is for GST). Confirm the correct middleware is installed and running as administrator. |
| DSC association fails after renewal | Re-associate your DSC on MCA V3 after every renewal, the old association doesn't automatically update. |
| Java or security warning blocks signing | Add the MCA portal URL to your Java Control Panel's exception site list, then restart your browser. |
Try a different browser (Chrome or Edge are recommended for V3), temporarily disable browser extensions and ad-blockers one at a time, and confirm your DSC hasn't expired, an expired certificate won't be detected even if the token itself is working fine.
We help troubleshoot MCA signing errors remotely, and issue fresh Class 3 DSCs same-day if yours needs replacing.
No, emBridge is used for the Income Tax and MCA V3 portals, emSigner is used exclusively for GST. Using the wrong one won't work.
Each portal requires separate registration and sometimes different middleware. Working on GST doesn't mean it's registered on MCA.
Yes, as long as the token drivers and correct middleware are installed on each computer, and the physical USB token is with you.
