What to prepare before you apply

Aadhaar card, with mobile linked

The mobile number linked to your Aadhaar must be active, this is where your OTP arrives.

PAN card

Name and details should match your Aadhaar exactly, mismatches are the most common cause of delay.

A quiet spot with stable internet

The video eKYC call needs decent lighting and a stable connection, a few minutes is all it takes.

A valid email address

Your DSC details and download link are sent here, use one you check regularly.

Your delivery address

If opting for doorstep delivery, have your correct address ready for the token dispatch.

Know your certificate type

Signing, Combo, or DGFT, know which portal you're using so you order the right one the first time.

Questions to ask your Registration Authority

"Is the verification fully paperless?"

If they ask for physical documents or a courier, that's a sign issuance won't be same-day.

"What's your typical issuance time?"

Ask for a realistic answer, not "as soon as possible", a genuine same-day provider will say so plainly.

"Does the token ship to me, or do I collect it?"

Confirm doorstep delivery explicitly, and whether it's included or a paid add-on.

"Is the token pre-configured?"

Ask if drivers and setup are handled before dispatch, so it works when it arrives.

"Which Certifying Authority issues it?"

Confirm it's a CCA-licensed CA, eMudhra, Capricorn CA, vSign or SpeedSign, not an unlicensed reseller.

"What support is available after delivery?"

Ask specifically about driver issues, portal registration help, and whether support continues after hours.
